Kirby attends IWEA Annual Conference

    Kirby was delighted to be part of the IWEA Annual Conference, which recently took place in the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Dublin. The conference was held over two days and discussed the key opportunities and challenges facing the wind energy industry in 2016 including community involvement and new technologies.

    This year the main theme of the conference was on “Energy Matters” with particular emphasis on the importance of Ireland’s wind energy sector in helping Ireland reach its target of 40% renewable electricity by 2020. Keynote speakers included Alex White, outgoing Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Fintan Slye, Chief Executive of EirGrid.

    Kirby exhibited at the conference, showcasing our expertise as market leaders in the design, engineering, construction and commissioning of high and medium-voltage transmission and distribution systems, connecting over 1.3GW of wind capacity to the grid.
