Kirby Invests in Graduate Talent

Kirby has created 15 new jobs for qualified engineers and project managers across their Ireland and UK offices as part of their new Graduate Programme.
The Graduate Programme targets high performing engineering graduates and aims to develop them into technical people and commercial leaders. Graduates move through a structured rotation programme over two years that involves Irish and UK site assignments as well as work in the professional engineering and commercial functions.
11 graduates will start work this week in Ireland with another 4 graduates beginning in the UK. Fergus Barry, Associate Director and Group Head of HR at Kirby, explained, “These new positions represent Kirby’s commitment to supporting our communities and forms a major part of our talent management and growth plans.”
The programme aims to identify and develop leaders early and includes 25 days of structured training and development focused on leadership development, construction industry functional excellence and Lean.
“These graduates went through a rigorous selection process. From the original 160 applicants, we invited 40 to attend an assessment centre to assess their communication and influencing skills, work and project management abilities, leadership, teamwork, creativity and commercial acumen and ultimately made offers to 15 candidates.
