PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby was awarded civil and electrical balance of plant (BoP)/ gridline connection contract for the Meenadreen Windfarm electrical infrastructure including (Clogher 110kV substation, Ireland’s first contestable GIS turnkey station), Mulreavy 110kV AIS tail-fed station and Mulreavy 110/33kV 120 MVA IPP substation.

Contestable Works:

• Clogher 110kV indoor GIS station equipped with 8 bays of Siemens GIS 8DN8 switchgear complete with provision for future expansion of up to an additional 4 Bays and associated control and protection
• Mulreavy 110kV tail-fed AIS substation
• Diversion of 2 no. existing 110kV OHL circuits via 4 number end mast structures and 4 number 110kV 1600m² Cu underground power gridline circuits
• 8km of underground 110kV gridline cable between Clogher and Mulreavy stations
• Turnkey design and installation of the works to EirGrid Functional Specifications

IPP Works:

• Mulreavy IPP 110/33kV sub-station including, 120MVA power transformer, 10 Bay 33kV switchboard and associated control and protection systems
• Extensive 33kV Windfarm power and fiber optic cable system
