Project Description

Brief Description

Shell PLC operates a large oil storage facility in Stanford Le Hope, Essex. Kirby was responsible for the upgrading of all instrumentation services within the tank farm area in addition to providing all mechanical and electrical services to a newly-built control room facility.

Mechanical services comprised of soils and waste, LPHW, chilled water services and domestic services. Air conditioning was via fan coil units within the rooms. Electrical services include lighting and emergency lighting services, general services and ancillary systems such as fire alarm, access control and security/CCTV.

Understanding Client Needs

The facility remained operational during the construction period with business continuity considered of paramount importance by Shell. As specialists in hazardous/ATEX working environments, Kirby were able to put the necessary work practices and procedures in place to safeguard Shell’s business. Key to this was the experience of our instrumentation personnel and the high quality of work performed on-site.
