PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kirby was responsible for the design and build of the electrical balance plant associated with the 30MW battery storage substation at Southwall connecting to the Eirgrid 220kV system via the Irishtown 220kV substation.
The scope of works included electrical and civil works associated with the electrical balance of plant, including design, procurement, installation and erection, testing and commissioning of works (civil and electrical) for all the BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) equipment.

Installed plant items include 3 nr. distribution boards,10 nr. control & protection panels, 1 nr. battery system and 2 nr. transformers. The total project meterage consisted of 1,500m of cable and 21 sets of joints and terminations.
