PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kirby was awarded the full EPC design and build contract for a new traction substation. The project involved connections from two new 275/ 25kV bays at Currie 275kV Substation.
The works included the civil, balance of plant, P&C, telecommunication, lighting and small power at both Currie Substation and Network Rail remote compound. This was the first EPC design and build contract Kirby completed for SPEN.
SCOPE OF WORK
Kirby scope of works included design and build services:
- Primary Equipment Transmission Connection
- Earthing & Bonding
- Control & Protection System
- MV Cable Connection System
- Fibre Network
- General & Emergency Lighting
- SCADA
Installed plant items included 2 nr. 275/25kV transformers, 8 nr. control & protection panels, GE 275kV disconnectors and GE 25kV disconnectors.
The total project meterage consisted of 10,000m of cable.
