AFO AbbVie Cycle Challenge 2017

  • October 11, 2017

On the June bank holiday weekend 2017, AbbVie held its second annual charity cycle challenge. Over 60 participants cycled from Sligo to Cork in an effort to raise some much needed funds for ‘North West Hospice’, Sligo and ‘Marymount Hospice’, Cork. The proceeds were recently presented to the charities where an amazing €22,200 was raised. Among the participants was Kirby’s own Mikey Ryan who took part in the cycle challenge.

Kirby provided two company vans over the course of the 3-day cycle to carry food and water for the cyclists. Des Cuffe and John Gardner drove the support vehicles over the three days and also assisted with road signage, general safety on the road and assisted any cyclist that ran into difficulty.

Kirby are proud to have helped raise a brilliant €22,200 for the North West Hospice in Sligo and the Marymount Hospice in Cork as part of the AFO AbbVie Cycle Challenge 2017.
