  • September 11, 2017

Brendan Muldowney, an apprentice at Kirby, was crowned Apprentice of the Year in Industrial Control at the 1st Annual EIFI Electrical Industry Awards held in Dublin recently.

Brendan received the prestigious award in recognition of his outstanding talent and competence for delivering projects to the highest international standards.

This is not the first award for the talented apprentice; last year, he was crowned National Champion in Industrial Control at the IrelandSkills National Competition.

Brendan is currently training for the 2017 WorldSkills Competition.  He will join his fellow Team Ireland competitors in Abu Dhabi in October where he will compete for the title of World Champion in Industrial Control.

Now in its 44th year, the WorldSkills Competition is a global competition for skills excellence and development. In 2017, 1256 competitors from 58 countries and regions will compete in 51 skills competitions including industrial control.

Huge congratulations to Brendan on his achievements to date and we wish him the best of luck for the WorldSkills Competition!
