Kirby awarded for positive contribution to the community

Kirby was recognised for its outstanding contribution to the community at the Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards which took place on Friday last.
At the awards, Kirby was presented with the CSR: Best Contribution to the Community Award in recognition of its significant positive impact on the community socially, economically, environmentally and culturally, and in particular for its work and commitment to the Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) Business Action on Education programme.
For over eight years, Kirby has been actively involved in the BITCI Business Action on Education programme. This programme works with Ireland’s leading companies in addressing key educational issues. From tackling the retention rate in post-primary schools and improving literacy skills for young children to fostering a pipeline of talent.
Commenting on the award, Fergus Barry, Kirby Group Head of Human Resources, said: “We are delighted to receive the Best Contribution to the Community Award. This award reflects our ongoing commitment to and culture of supporting the development of the local community through initiatives designed to enhance technical education and access to rewarding and high-potential careers”.
Over 400 of the region’s top business leaders and government officials attended the Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards which were held at the Limerick Strand hotel.
