Kirby raises €40,000 for the Irish Cancer Society

  • June 8, 2020

Kirby Group Engineering has shown the power of working together, even when staying apart.

Many people and businesses throughout the country have been affected by the outbreak of Covid-19. Funding of charitable organisations has been hit particularly hard, especially after many fundraising events have been cancelled. Daffodil Day, which raises funds for cancer research every year, was scheduled for 27 March, but was cancelled due to the pandemic.

The collapse in funding for charitable organisations has been devastating and urgent support is required during these challenging times. Kirby decided to join its forces and organised a fundraising event to help raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.

On 15-17 May, thirty Kirby employees from the Connacht region ran / jogged / walked a full Marathon individually to raise funds for this great cause. The fundraising event was a huge success. Together with their suppliers, friends and family, the company has raised €40,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.

Now, it is more important than ever to support the vulnerable in our society. Kirby is grateful to everyone who got involved and supported this great initiative.
