Kirby to speak at Digital Construction Week 2016
October 18, 2016
Kirby and IBM have joined forces to explore the possibilities arising from the application of BIM with large scale Internet of Things (IoT) systems to create immersive and cognitive buildings. The findings of this exploration will be presented and discussed at Digital Construction Week which takes place in London on the 26th and 27th of October.
During the joint presentation, Jimmy Kirby, Executive Chairman and Director of Strategy at Kirby, Mark Danaher, Kirby BIM Manager and Dr Claire Penny, Worldwide Solution Leader, IoT at IBM will showcase the possibilities for cognitive operations when the latest IoT technology is combined with BIM and cognitive analytics and paired with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) interfaces. The presentation will feature the first large-scale (>10 sensors) demonstrator of the Watson IoT platform and analytic capabilities in Cognitive Building Operation which has been successfully integrated with Kirby’s 3D modelling capability allowing for a full BIM lifecycle.
The presentation entitled ‘Internet of Things Enterprise Asset Management – Cognitive Operations’ takes place at 2.30pm on Wednesday 26th October at the Digital in Action theatre at Digital Construction Week 2016.
