We are getting ready to pedal our way to fun and fitness as The Kirby Way Cycle returns for a third consecutive year! The 2024 cycle will take place on Friday, 30th August and will start and finish in Portlaoise with participants choosing a route of 50km or 100km.
We were delighted to welcome former professional racing cyclist, Imogen Cotter, to the official launch of the 2024 cycle where she delivered a safety awareness talk on road and cycle safety and offered some great tips on training and equipment for the cycle.
This year we are raising funds for two worthy charities, Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation and St. John’s Ward at Children’s Health Ireland, Crumlin.
Donations can be made on our fundraising page: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/KirbyWayCycle2024
Our chosen charities
Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation supports children with cognitive delays up to the age of 6 years old. The charity provide in-home nursing to provide the proper care that these children need and support the parents need to take care of their children in their own homes.
Children’s Health Foundation Crumlin are committed to supporting patients and their families who attend Children’s Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres in Temple Street, Crumlin, Connolly and Tallaght. The fundraising from The Kirby Way Cycle will be donated directly to St. John’s Cancer Ward in Crumlin’s Children Hospital. St. John’s is a 19-bed unit that provides treatment to children and young people up to the age of 16 who have been diagnosed with cancer and/or blood disorders.
