PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kirby was responsible for the design and build of an additional 34 turbines supplying up to 63.43MW of renewable generation at Blacklaw windfarm extension project, phase 1 and 2.
The principal works carried out under this contract were the design, supply and commissioning associated with the installation of 33kV control building ancillary systems including project specifc control and SCADA system independent of the WTG
SCADA system and AC and DC distribution systems. In addition, this project involved the installation and testing of 33kV windfarm cable collector system and operation of 33kV windfarm network under Kirby safety rules until handover to the client.
SCOPE OF WORK
Kirby scope of works included design, construction and commissioning of the following works:
• Earthing & Bonding
• Control & Protection System
• Fibre Network
• DC Battery Systems
• UPS
• SCADA
Installed plant items included 1 number 500kVA auxiliary transformer, 1 number battery systems, 1 number main AC distribution boards and control building services.
