PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby completed the Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical works for a multinational blue chip client on a live Data and Disaster Recovery Facility in West London increasing the IT capacity to 6MWe.

Due to the location of the project being within a conservation area and the building being grade 2 listed it was imperative strict adherence to local planning and conservation regulations were taken into consideration.

Close team collaboration with the Client, Principal Designers and Services Consultant ensured a high level of expertise and value engineering were adopted throughout the design and construction process to ensure full resilience was maintained to keep the facility live 24/7 without disruption.

Successful collaborative planning, engineering and commissioning workshops with the entire project team before commencement of any testing, commissioning, validation and migration integration to the live data centre facility was the driving factor in delivering such a high profile complex project.

• Chilled Water System
• Chillers, Pumps, Cooling Towers and CRAC Units
• Supply and Extract Ventilation
• Fire Suppression
• VRF Air Conditioning
• Leak Detection
• BMS
• Server Room DX Air Conditioning
• Soil, Waste and Condensate

The civil, structural and architectural installed by Kirby included:

• Groundworks, Asbestos Removal, Piling and Structural Slab
• Construction of a fully cladded building
• Tarmac Pathways
• Full Anti-Climb Security Fence
• External structural gantry and bespoke external services riser
• Complete new roof membrane to the existing building
• New Raised Access Floor to Data Hall
• Upgrade to glazing façade

Installed plant items included LV switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, cooling towers, CRACs, VRF cooling units, new generator control system.
