PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby was appointed to complete the retrofit network upgrade on this hyperscale data centre project. The project involved the retrofit and upgrade of an existing data centre building to accommodate a proprietary higher bandwidth topology and upgrade of the building by increasing power and cooling requirements. Works were completed in a live facility. Prefabrication was utilised for steel works. BIM Cloud Scan and as built model were used in early contractor engagement.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Kirby was responsible for the mechanical and electrical scope of works.

• Soils & Wastes
• Domestic Water Services
• Water to DEC and IAC Units

Installed plant items included 4 nr. 3MW CAT Generators, 4 nr. Vertiv UPS, 4 nr. METS, 4 nr. DEC Units, 4 nr. E&I MTS, 1 nr. E&I ATS and 96 nr. Fans.

The total project meterage consisted of 7,900m of cable, 550m of containment, 100m of pipework and 500m2 of ductwork.
