PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby installed all electrical and instrumentation services associated with this project; an expansion to an existing elastomer production facility to include an additional (4th) finishing line.

Some of the works undertaken by Kirby include the removal of existing 11kV MV infrastructure and replacing it with new 11kV boards and cabling, all associated LV main and sub-main cabling and equipment, all instrumentation services to approximately 2,000 I/O points, hot/cold loop checking of all instrumentation, full documentation service, system walkdowns and handover packs.

SCOPE OF WORK

Kirby scope of works included the installation and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation services.

The electrical systems installed by Kirby included:

• MV Distribution
• LV Distribution
• UPS
• General & Emergency Lighting
• General Service Power
• Mechanical Plant Service Power
• Access Control, Intruder & CCTV
• Earthing & Bonding
• Voice & Data Distribution
• Profibus

Installed free issue equipment included MV and LV Transformers and Switchgear.

The total project meterage consisted of 100,000m of cable, 4,000m of containment, 60m of impulse piping, 1,000 number of instruments, 800 number of loops, 200 number of calibrations, and 2,000 number of I/O points.
