PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Galway Wind Park is made up of four windfarms consisting of 58 turbines and connected to the 110kV transmission network; making it the largest windfarm in Ireland with the capacity to produce 174MW of electricity.
Kirby carried out the Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP) contract at Galway Wind Park. Kirby’s work scope included the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the 33kV radial system, design of the 33,000V/690V packaged unit substations and LV connections for all 58 Siemens 3MW turbines.
Kirby was responsible for the supply, install, jointing, terminating and testing of over 270 kilometres of 33kV cable as well as the supply, install and commissioning of 33 kilometres of LV cable between unit substations and wind turbine generators.

Kirby scope of works included the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the entire EBoP.
