PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Kirby was appointed by ESB Network to complete Design & Build, PSDP and PSCS of Civil & Electrical works for 38kV GIS substation. The works included site survey, compound civil works, installation of 38kV GIS switchgear, control room equipment with RTU, control and protection equipment and all necessary cabling.

SCOPE OF WORK

Kirby scope of works included design, construction and commissioning of the following works:

• Primary Equipment Distribution Connection
• Earthing & Bonding
• Control & Protection System
• Distribution Underground Cables
• DC Battery Systems
• General & Emergency Lighting
• General Service Power
• Fire Detection & Alarm
• Voice & Data Distribution
• SF6 Ventilation

Installed plant items included 6 number GIS switchgear panels, 2 number distribution boards, 6 number control & protection panels, 2 number battery systems.

The total project meterage consisted of 1,300m of cable and 18 number of joints/terminations.
