PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Pernod Ricard undertook a €100m investment at its plant in Midleton, Co. Cork in order to increase production capacity. The investment included the building of a new brewhouse, column stillhouse and distillation columns building.
On this project, Kirby installed the electrical and instrumentation services within the stillhouse and distillation columns building. This involved all main power distribution, motive power, instrumentation, lighting, general services and ancillary systems associated with equipment such as pot stills, condensers, separators, columns, vessels and tanks. Other equipment included ancillary plant such as pumps, heat exchangers and variable speed drives in both buildings and the external tank farms.
All work was undertaken within ATEX/Hazardous Area classifed zones with particular emphasis being placed on the quality of installed services including glanding and terminations. Work was delivered within an operational production facility. Through careful planning, off-site fabrication and the close working relationship between all project stakeholders, the investment was completed on schedule and within budget allocated.
