PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Schwarz Pharmaceuticals invested €120m at its facility in Clare. Kirby was responsible for the installation of electrical and instrumentation services for the API building, electrical distribution centre, TOU, tank farm, drum store, waste water treatment plant and site services, with manpower peaking at 150.

Kirby successfully managed the asset logging of all field instruments within the existing production facility and site calibration services.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Kirby scope of works included electrical and instrumentation services.

The electrical and instrumentation systems installed by Kirby included:

• MV Distribution
• LV Distribution
• UPS
• Fire Detection and Alarm
• Access Control, Intruder and CCTV
• Voice and Data Distribution
• Lightning Protection
• Impulse Tubing

Installed plant items included MDB’s, SDB’s, MCC’s, VSD’s and 21 number reactors.

The total project meterage consisted of 245,000m of cable and 150,000m of containment, approximately 7,500 IO points and 3,000 number of instruments.
