Design & Engineering
Kirby believe in integrated project delivery and early engagement. Our responsibility is to work as a team with our clients and other project stakeholders to optimise project delivery from design through to commissioning.
Our mechanical, electrical and T&D project engineers understand the necessary dynamic between the overall design process and facilitating early mobilisation on site. We concentrate on optimising design, coordination and planning so as to expedite site construction.
Over the years Kirby has invested significantly in our in-house engineering and BIM modelling capabilities contributing to ‘best practice’ in design and constructability reviews. We consider pre-construction involvement to be the corner-stone to effective on-site project delivery and so structure our involvement to engage as early as possible.
Our BIM department consists of 12 highly qualified construction engineers who understand project build philosophies and are able to accurately reflect design intent into realisable construction layouts. We use industry compatible software systems such as Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD MEP and Inventor and further complement these with Totalstation and 3D point cloud scanning to deliver fully-integrated model platforms.
Where Kirby is requested to deliver design and build project scopes, such as for Electrical T&D clients or cleanroom build projects, we engage in partnership with our design supply chain to deliver optimum project results for our clients. Our key strength is our ability to interpret our client’s project drivers accurately and transfer their needs into a realisable, purposeful construction phase which supports their overall business critical needs.
